Rebel's Drug Store Haul + Reviews

Hi hi hi fellow readers and welcome to my first ever Drug Store Haul! I honestly have to say that I should have started this Blog Post idea a looooong time ago. I am a big big fan of getting make up at drug stores and have been purchasing my main make-up from brands like Maybelline (as you all will see soon), Covergirl, L'oreal, etc. I am a strong believer that drug store makeup is just as good as higher brands of makeup, it just depends on what products you're buying. So ladies and gents, lets start my first ever Drug Store Haul!

Rebel In Pastel's Drug Store Haul

1. Vaseline Lip Therapy [in Rosy Lips] 2.27 USD click to buy

After noticing that my lips are starting to get chapped (probably after too many Matte lipsticks), I knew i needed to get some sort of chapstick. So when I saw this cute little Vaseline bottle that dubbed the name "Lip Therapy", I was in. There are three shades (or should I say flavors) to choose from, the original Vaseline, Cocoa Butter and Rosy Lips. Rosy Lips is the only tinted one which is why I purchased it. Although when I put it on, it only slightly changes the color of my lips. When I first put it on, it felt really gooey and slippery. Not a good texture. But this was all worth it since this really hydrate my lips and made them a lot softer and healthier. I put it on after my night-time face routine and fell asleep with it still feeling heavy on my lips, but when I woke up this morning, my lips felt as soft as ever. I'm excited to try this under matte lipstick. So all in all, I'm happily surprised by how much I like this product.

2. Covergirl truBlend Foundation [in L7, Warm Beige] 9.99 USD click to buy

The purchase of this foundation actually is kind of a funny story. It all started when I saw Lauren Curtis's make-up tutorials (click here to check out her page) and she mentioned her "holy grail" of foundations (which is actually L'oreal truMatch) and that was the foundation that I initially wanted to buy, but of course silly me got confused between the Covergirl and the L'oreal version. I obviously chose wrong.. But it turned out for the best because I really like this foundation! I can honestly tell you that I haven't used a foundation all over my face for a very long time. I usually buy Maybelline 24 Hour Super Stay (found here) and use that as a concealer under the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB cream (found here). I've been doing this for about a year and a half now because I hated how thick and cakey my face felt after using a liquid foundation. But I was in for a surprise when I used this! It was light, creamy and highly pigmented. It felt very natural to my skin. I will happily make this mistake again.

3. Maybelline Color Elixir by Color Sensational [in 055 Glistening Amber & 100 Petal Plush] 8.99 USD click to buy

This purchase was really just an impulse buy. I was at Walmart and these lip glosses were on sale for 5 dollars each, so I just had to pick them up. On the link above, I couldn't find this sale, sorry ): But what really drew me into this was the packaging! It is very reminiscent to the Dior Addict Fluid Stick line.

Although the packaging is similar, the brushes are different. The formula itself is very hydrating and refreshing and felt very nice when I put it on. Although I was kind of surprised how the colors weren't as pigmented as I thought they were. To me, it felt like the washed-out version of that color, but it could also be the fact that I didn't choose the brighter colors (I really wanted the bright peach color, but the seal was broken). But overall, for 5 dollars each, I think it was a good purchase. I definitely would buy them again (hopefully in the color that I wanted *fingers crossed*).

4. Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream [in Light/Medium] 8.99 USD click to buy

I am a huge Huge HUGE fan of Maybelline's whole BB cream line. I just love how refreshing, light and hydrating these are and make my skin have an amazing glow while I'm wearing it. So when I saw the commercial for this new BB product, I was in. The difference between this Pure BB vs. the Dream Fresh BB is that the Pure has 2% Salicylic Acid acne treatment which would help clear your skin on top of the 8 things it also does:

  1. Blurs Imperfections
  2. Enhance
  3. Brightens
  4. Adjusts to skin-tone
  5. Smoothes
  6. Hydrates
  7. SPF 30
  8. 0% oils
I mean, all that for 9 dollars?! I love it. And its no wonder that this product is one of my favorites. Now I'm not sure if the actual "acne fighter' part of this product works yet, since i've been switching between this product and the truMatch. But it has a great consistency and has the exact same feel of the Dream Pure BB (which I am very happy about). So all in all, I would recommend this product to everyone. I just can't get enough of this whole BB craze.

5. Maybelline Fit Me Pressed Powder [in 125 Nude Beige] 7.99 USD click to buy

I bought this product on a whim since it was on sale for 5 dollars and I knew that I really needed to get some sort of powder. I am not a huge fan of pressed powders because I feel like it makes my face look cakey, but Maybelline and I are really good friends so I couldn't help pick it up. I guessed on my 'Fit' number and I seemed to have guessed right. It is a very good powder and really stays on my face for a pretty long time. But the one thing that I have to be aware of is that if I do put too much, my face does indeed look cakey and not natural (but maybe it's just me and i'm not used to powders). I was happy when it did cover a problem pimple on my nose (which I still unfortunately have) and I make sure that this is still in my make-up bag before I go anywhere. One could say that I'm pretty dependent on it (haha!). So yes, for a person who isn't into pressed powders, I would buy this again, especially if it's still priced at 5 dollars.

Well guys and dolls, this was my Drugstore Haul and Review. I hope you all liked it and end up buying some of these products! (i'm in no way sponsored by any of these wonderful companies, this is all my own opinion). Thank you for reading (:

xx
